The Simpsons: Hit & Run writer and series showrunner hints at a potential revival by saying “never say never

Matt Selman, the showrunner of The Simpsons and a writer for The Simpsons: Hit & Run, suggests that there is always a possibility for a remake or revival in the future. While celebrating the milestone of the show’s 800th episode, he emphasized that “nothing is set in stone” and acknowledged the strong affection fans have for the series.

Selman stated, “While I can’t confirm anything, I would say ‘never say never’ when it comes to Hit & Run.” He highlighted the enthusiasm of the fanbase, noting, “We understand that people love it and want to see more, which is encouraging.”

Reflecting on his experience with Hit & Run, Selman recalled, “When I was in my late 20s, I contributed to the writing of Hit & Run. At the time, I had no idea it would achieve such a cult status among gamers.” Among the many Simpsons games created over the years, he views Hit & Run as particularly noteworthy.

These remarks come as the team behind titles like Prototype, The Incredible Hulk: Ultimate Destruction, and The Simpsons: Hit & Run has reformed under a new banner: New Radical Games. This new studio, a combination of Radical Entertainment and Hothead Games, has expressed its intent to create games that capture the essence of beloved franchises, promising to engage fans across the board.
