Fan of Slay the Spire 2 Sketched Daily Until Launch and Created an Art Book to Celebrate

A dedicated fan of Slay the Spire has embarked on a unique project, committing to “draw poorly” until the arrival of Slay the Spire 2. This creative endeavor has culminated in the publication of an art book that showcases their artistic journey. With the sequel now available, the artist has unveiled this delightful compilation to the public.

Known as PixelPenguin on Reddit, the user shared an image of themselves holding a vibrant book titled “Drawing Badly until STS2 Comes Out Vol. 1-300.” Their artistic journey began around two years ago, and they diligently produced daily artworks, culminating in their 620th creation posted on March 5.

The book also features a special touch from another talented artist, Ursa Ryan, who contributed a foreword. Ryan previously undertook a similar challenge by creating artwork daily until the release of Civilization 7.

If you’re interested in following this artistic saga without sifting through years of Reddit posts, the book is available for purchase on Amazon. It includes the first 300 pieces, all created using MS Paint, offering a glimpse into the project’s evolution. In the book’s description, PixelPenguin notes: “Whether you’ve been with the project since the beginning or are discovering it now, this unofficial collection is a celebration of perseverance, obsession, and the quirky joy of doing something seemingly pointless for so long that it becomes part of who you are.”

As for Slay the Spire 2, it has quickly gained popularity, not only providing an enjoyable experience for solo players but also for those who love playing cooperatively. Over half a million copies were sold during its launch weekend alone. Additionally, there are official plushies available for fans to collect, adding to the excitement surrounding the game.
