Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 reveals extensive multiplayer gameplay and details in a new showcase

As the release date for Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 approaches on November 14th, and with the early access beta just around the corner, Activision has launched an extensive showcase highlighting new multiplayer features and gameplay. Amidst the excitement and various promotional announcements, a wealth of information was revealed, including details about the new Resurgence map in Warzone.

The open beta for Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 is scheduled from October 5th to 8th, with early access kicking off on Thursday, October 2nd. Activities will begin at 6 PM UK time (10 AM PDT) and participants will have the chance to explore six 6v6 maps. These include Blackheart, located on an offshore oil rig; The Forge, a Tokyo research facility; downtown Tokyo’s Toshin; Exposure, set in the Australian outback; Imprint, an Alaskan weapon manufacturing site; and Cortex, which is a human testing ground. For those interested in Zombies, the Vandorn Farm survival map will be available as well, with pre-loading for the beta starting tomorrow, October 1st.

Black Ops 7 – Launch Multiplayer Maps Tour

During the showcase, Activision also provided a preview of several maps from Black Ops 7, which will feature a total of 18 launch maps—16 designed for 6v6 battles and two dedicated to the new 20v20 Skirmish mode. Notable mentions include Colossus, a nod to Black Ops 2, and Den, set in a futuristic Japanese castle. Other maps like Express (set in a train station), Hijacked (a yacht in Tokyo Bay), Homestead (featuring David Mason’s childhood home), and Paranoia (inspired by Mason’s nightmares) were also showcased. Activision promises an additional seven multiplayer maps will be released as part of the post-launch Season 1 content, along with two Survival maps and one round-based Zombies map. A fan-favorite, Nuketown 2025, is expected to launch shortly after the game’s initial release.

On the weapon front, Black Ops 7 will introduce 16 new multiplayer weapons at launch, including the M10 Breacher, a pump-action shotgun that can be charged for improved accuracy at mid-range. More weapons, alongside returning favorites and various attachment rewards, will be introduced as the post-launch seasons commence. Players also got a sneak peek at new Weapon Prestige attachments and camouflage options coming with the game, as well as a narrative about a dedicated camo track in the co-op campaign. Black Ops 7 offers 16 mastery camos, spread across different modes including multiplayer, Zombies, Warzone, and co-op, with more rewards promised throughout the seasons.

Black Ops 7 Zombies – Ashes of the Damned Tour

Finally, Activision showcased the “competitive” new Overload mode, a 6v6 objective-based game in which teams compete to secure an overload device and deliver it to one of two enemy zones. Achieving success results in points, with eight points needed to claim victory.

Moving on to Zombies mode, the Ashes of the Damned map draws inspiration from the myths surrounding the Bermuda Triangle and incorporates various historically violent landmarks into its design. Players will encounter locations like the ruins of Janus Towers Plaza and Black Water Cabin, where dark events transpired. Waves of undead, including loot-stealing Ravagers, will also pose a challenge. Players will utilize a vehicle named Tessie, which can be upgraded with various enhancements.

There’s also a closer look at the Ashes of the Damned map in the showcase, and players can try out the Vandorn Farm in the upcoming beta. More Survival maps based on round-based content will be available after launch.

Warzone – Haven’s Hollow Tour

The showcase further emphasized the Zombies mode by presenting Warzone’s upcoming Resurgence map, Haven’s Hollow, a quaint Appalachian town that Zombies enthusiasts may recognize. Serving as a pre-outbreak teasing of Liberty Falls, it contains nine unique points of interest within its autumn landscape. Locations include a train station, mansion, lumber mill, riverboat, pond, coal depot, homestead, and Main Street. Players can expect Haven’s Hollow to be available with Season 1 later this year.

For those looking to dive deep into the extensive gameplay and features of Call of Duty: Black Ops 7, the full showcase is a must-watch. Keep in mind, the open beta early access starts on Thursday, October 2nd, leading up to the full game release on November 14th.
