Switch 2 Elden Ring Tarnished Edition postponed to 2026 to “provide time for performance enhancements
FromSoftware has announced a delay in the release of the much-anticipated Elden Ring port for the Nintendo Switch 2, now expected to arrive in 2026. The developer cited the need for additional time to improve performance as the reason for the postponement.
In a concise statement, FromSoftware expressed regret for the delay but reassured fans that they are fully committed to the release process. Unfortunately, no specific release timeframe has been provided yet.
The Tarnished Edition of Elden Ring for Switch 2 was first revealed during an April Nintendo Direct event. This version will feature the base game along with its Shadow of the Erdtree DLC. Additionally, players can look forward to new armor options and a customizable appearance for their Torrent mount.
While there had been hopes for the game’s launch by the end of this year, no definitive date was confirmed prior to the announcement. The development team thanked fans for their understanding and support as they continue to work on the game.
In related news, the Elden Ring spin-off titled Elden Ring Nightreign has introduced a new multiplayer mode called Deep of Night. This mode raises the stakes by presenting players with tougher enemies in the world of Limveld, emphasizing an increased level of difficulty and a range of challenges to overcome.
