Embark Studios CEO Patrick Soderlund has expressed confidence about the release of Arc Raiders, even with its launch coinciding with major titles like Battlefield 6 and Call of Duty: Black Ops 7.

In a recent interview, Soderlund discussed various aspects of the studio’s development process, including the journey of their game, The Finals, towards profitability, and their strategy for live service games. When it came to Arc Raiders’ scheduled release, he remarked, “Some might question our decision, but we’ve carefully considered various perspectives. Regardless of the surrounding circumstances, we believe that launching now is the right step. This marks the beginning of a longer journey, and every journey needs a starting point.”

Arc Raiders has already attracted considerable positive feedback from players despite its challenging release window. When asked about the game’s appeal, Soderlund emphasized the importance of innovation: “We cannot afford to be complacent, assuming we can create something without making a significant impact. We need to offer something compelling to capture interest. If we execute well, players may choose to stay engaged, but it’s crucial to give them a reason to explore our game over their current favorites.”
