According to the latest information, Serhii Hryhorovych is no longer the owner of GSC Game World. New beneficiary is Ukrainian Maksym Krippa. The information was confirmed by the relevant entries in the Ukrainian and Czech registers made in September 2023.

Thanks to Hryhorovych’s comments, we found out that the reason for the sale of the studio lies in some external factors and contradictions that had accumulated over the years.

What is known about S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2

Stalker 2: Heart of Chernobyl is the anticipated sequel to the cult video game series S.T.A.L.K.E.R. developed by Ukrainian studio GSC Game World. The game belongs to the first-person shooter genre with elements of survival horror and open world. The game takes place in the post-apocalyptic exclusion zone of the Chernobyl nuclear power plant, which is called the Zone. The original S.T.A.L.K.E.R. series has gained immense popularity due to its unique combination of science fiction, real-life events, and a deep atmospheric world.

The plot of Stalker 2: Heart of Chernobyl revolves around mysterious events that continue to develop in the exclusion zone. The player will take on the role of a stalker – a hunter for artifacts and secrets of the Zone, which hides many dangers. The main opponents will be both enemy stalkers and military groups, as well as mutants generated by the radiation environment.

Stalker 2 promises to retain key elements of the previous installments, such as a dynamic world that responds to player actions, as well as an open world with a high degree of interactivity. In addition, new mechanics will be introduced:

  • A living open world: the player will be able to move freely around the vast Zone, which is constantly changing under the influence of anomalies.
  • Choices and consequences: player’s choices will have a significant impact on the plot development and the ending of the game.
  • Realistic interactions: attention to detail, such as weapons, inventory, and the ability to modify equipment.
