Enthusiastic reception of Tomb Raider 2013’s Switch port may indicate Rise and Shadow could also arrive on Nintendo consoles
The 2013 reboot of Tomb Raider recently made its way to the Nintendo Switch, and the enthusiastic response from gamers has led developer Aspyr to potentially consider porting the final two installments of the trilogy to the platform.
The journey of the Tomb Raider Survivor trilogy began with Crystal Dynamics introducing an inexperienced Lara Croft stranded on the turbulent shores of Yamatai. This adventure continued with Rise of the Tomb Raider, which took Lara to the icy landscapes of Siberia, culminating in Shadow of the Tomb Raider, set in the lush jungles of South America.
Many Nintendo Switch players are now eagerly anticipating whether these last two titles from the latest Tomb Raider series will be released on their consoles, allowing them to complete Lara’s story arc.
Aspyr acknowledged the interest in a recent statement, noting their previous success in reviving the classic era of Tomb Raider by remastering the first six games for Nintendo platforms. They indicated that while they cannot make any specific announcements at this time, the enthusiastic feedback from the community serves as strong motivation to explore further opportunities for additional ports.
