Despite the removal of the mandatory PlayStation Network (PSN) account linking in the game Helldivers 2, it remains unavailable for purchase on the Steam platform in 180 countries and territories.

According to Johan Pilestedt, the head of Arrowhead Game Studios, this situation is a result of an administrative error made during the initial restrictions implementation. Although Valve has already corrected the mistake, the decision to return the game to these regions remains with Sony.

At the same time, Ghost of Tsushima, which also requires PSN account linking only for certain features like the PlayStation overlay and the multiplayer mode “Legends”, has also been removed from sale on Steam in the same 180 regions.

Steam support confirms that despite these restrictions, discussions about lifting them are ongoing, and the possibility of games returning to these regions in the future is being considered. However, there is currently no exact date for the games’ return to restricted regions.
