Amazon reveals a glimpse of Ryan Hurst as Kratos in the God of War TV series
Amazon has unveiled a first glimpse of Ryan Hurst portraying Kratos in its upcoming God of War television series.
The image, posted on social media, features Hurst without a shirt, leaning forward as he instructs his son Atreus, played by Callum Vinson, on the art of hunting. This scene mirrors the initial moments of the 2018 God of War game reboot.
Ryan Hurst was announced as the actor for Kratos earlier this year and is familiar with the franchise due to his role as Thor in God of War: Ragnarok, a performance that garnered him a BAFTA nomination. Callum Vinson’s casting as Atreus was confirmed just recently.
They will be joined by Ed Skrein, recognized for his portrayal of Daario Naharis in Game of Thrones, who will play Baldur, a character that encounters Kratos early in the storyline. Ólafur Darri Ólafsson, known for his role in Severance, will depict Thor, while Mandy Patinkin from Homeland will take on the role of Odin. The show will be directed by Frederik E.O. Toye, a celebrated director known for his work on Shogun, who will helm the first two episodes.
As of now, the release date for the God of War series has not been announced; however, a second season has already been approved.
