Step aside Indy, we have our first details on Wolfenstein 3

The casting process for Wolfenstein 3 is officially underway.

Rumors have circulated for some time that MachineGames, the studio also known for their impressive work on Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, intends to continue the Wolfenstein franchise. Near the end of 2025, studio head Jerk Gustafsson expressed their desire to develop a sequel to The New Colossus, stating, “We have a story to tell,” during a documentary released by Noclip in September.

Recently, Gustafsson reiterated the studio’s commitment to returning to the Wolfenstein universe during a conversation with GamesIndustry, stating that it has always been their goal to revisit this series and that they aim to complete the trilogy. It appears that significant progress is being made towards this ambition.

A casting call revealed by MP1st indicates that performance capture for Wolfenstein 3, codenamed Valkyrie, is set to begin later this year, specifically in April, with this phase expected to continue until 2027.

The casting description mentions a character named Sofiya, portrayed as an orphan between the ages of 8-11 from Ukraine, who owns a dog named Ralph. The two characters develop a connection with William “B.J.” Blazkowicz, the protagonist renowned for battling the Nazi regime.

Sofiya is described as initially wary and traumatized by her experiences in war, but she grows under the support of the resistance, potentially hinting at a link to the Kreisau Circle, becoming a resilient survivor.

It remains unclear whether Sofiya will join B.J.’s team or if the game will feature a dynamic reminiscent of the father-daughter bond seen in The Last of Us. What direction do you hope MachineGames takes with this storyline?
