Crimson Desert reaches over 3 million wishlists as anticipation for the single-player RPG grows

Crimson Desert, a single-player RPG spin-off from the popular Korean MMO Black Desert, has garnered over 3 million wishlists as the launch date approaches later this month.

The milestone was shared through the game’s official social media channels, along with a message expressing gratitude from the development team. This wishlist count reflects early enthusiasm on Steam, with the game slated for release on Xbox Series X/S and PS5 on March 19th.

This announcement follows a series of interviews and previews that provided potential players with insights about the game. Notably, it was confirmed that NPCs will not be voiced by AI, and the developers aim to deliver a “premium experience” devoid of microtransactions, aside from a deluxe edition.

The imminent release of Crimson Desert signifies a pivotal moment for the Korean gaming industry. Following the launch of Stellar Blade, several studios traditionally focused on live services are shifting towards premium projects. In addition to Crimson Desert, future titles are on the horizon from the creators of Lies of P and Stellar Blade developer Shift Up. Recently, South Korea has emerged as an influential player in the realm of premium gaming, bolstered by recent successes and expert evaluations.
