Our 2025 Game of the Year, Blue Prince, unexpectedly releases on Nintendo Switch 2 today

Attention, Nintendo enthusiasts! The highly acclaimed indie title, Blue Prince, is set to make its intriguing debut on Switch 2 later today.

That’s right, today! While it’s not yet available on the Nintendo eShop (I just checked), it should be appearing any moment now. I’ll keep a close watch and provide updates as soon as it goes live.

For those who may not know, Blue Prince was recognized as one of the standout games of 2025. Many players, myself included, were captivated by its unique charm. The game revolves around the quest to uncover the elusive Room 46, hidden deep within the mysterious Mt. Holly mansion. However, this task is far from straightforward, as the mansion’s layout changes every day.

According to the official description for Blue Prince on Switch 2, “Chart your own path through chambers filled with secrets and challenges as you seek to unveil the enigmatic Room 46. Each chamber offers something distinct, and each step brings you closer to resolving the mystery.”

Upon its original release last year, Blue Prince received a perfect five-star rating. One reviewer highlighted that “what stands out the most is how the game respects the time you spend within it, creating a truly enchanting experience.”

They went on to note, “The deepest charm of the game lies in the multitude of secrets it reveals as you immerse yourself in its world. It’s the joy of discovering hidden layers to elements you thought you fully grasped, the satisfaction of revisiting what seemed straightforward and finding complexity where you least expected it.”

So, are you excited to dive into Blue Prince?
