Mario Kart World fans are optimistic about the return of a beloved Battle mode following Nintendo’s accidental release and quick removal of a teaser image
Nintendo seems to be gearing up for an exciting update to the Battle mode in Mario Kart World that hints at a Bob-omb feature.
Recently, a screenshot showcasing upcoming events for Mario Day, celebrated on March 10th, circulated online. Though Nintendo swiftly tried to remove the image, it had already caught the attention of sharp-eyed fans.
The screenshot, which can still be found on platforms like Reddit, displays a refreshed icon for Battle mode featuring a Bob-omb. This has led many to speculate that the beloved Bob-omb Blast mode may soon be added to Mario Kart World—a rather fitting twist on Mario-related wordplay!
Bob-omb Blast has previously appeared in several Mario Kart games, where players toss explosive Bob-ombs at each other to accumulate points. Currently, Mario Kart World only offers Balloon Battle and Coin Runners as battle options.
The anticipation for the introduction of Bob-omb Blast is palpable among fans. One user expressed their hope for the mode’s return on Reddit, stating, “God I hope so, it’s my favorite battle mode!” Another chimed in humorously with the phrase, “We are Sex Bob-omb!!!”, inadvertently stuck in many heads as a catchy reference.
A comparison between the existing Battle option icon and the newly proposed Bob-omb-themed one can be made for visuals. Additionally, many players, including myself, are eager to see Renegade Roundup make its way into Mario Kart World, as it adds a fun dynamic to the gameplay.
In other Nintendo news, the company has recently announced a Direct presentation focusing on the upcoming Super Mario Galaxy movie. Alongside this announcement, they shared new artwork that hints at some unexpected characters set to appear in the film.
