Recently, more than 600 accounts were blocked in the Star Citizen game due to the use of an exploit with in-game currency. The developers discovered that these players had exploited a vulnerability in the game to illegally obtain a significant amount of UEC (United Earth Credits). This gave them an unfair advantage over other players.

The development team urged all players to follow the rules of the game. They also promised to take further measures to prevent similar cases in the future. They also stressed that any attempts to circumvent the system would be severely punished.

The developers reported that they are currently working on fixing the bug. It was the reason why players received a huge amount of in-game currency. However, identifying problems is not quite the same as solving them. The exploit was discovered in Alpha patch 3.23.1. In version 3.23.1a, it was removed, as well as the illegally obtained funds from the game’s ecosystem.

It is worth noting that some players have already exchanged in-game baskets for real money.
