MrBeast Expresses Interest in Buying TikTok

YouTube sensation MrBeast has revealed his interest in purchasing TikTok, even boarding a private jet to deliver his official proposal. This news comes shortly after the platform resumed operations following a 12-hour outage. The downtime was triggered by former President Donald Trump’s announcement of a 75-day suspension on banning TikTok, giving the company time to prove it does not pose a national security threat, reported by The Gamer.

Meta, Elon Musk, and Bobby Kotick Join the Race

In addition to MrBeast, Meta, Elon Musk, and even former Activision CEO Bobby Kotick have expressed interest in acquiring TikTok. MrBeast took to TikTok itself to declare his ambitions, humorously suggesting that he could be the platform’s new CEO.

Rumors have also swirled around Elon Musk, who famously acquired Twitter in 2022 for $44 billion. While his representative declined to comment on the matter, Musk is now leading the newly established Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE). Meanwhile, the U.S. government itself has shown interest in purchasing a stake in TikTok.

MrBeast and the U.S. Government Eye TikTok

Trump posted on his Truth Social platform that he would like the US to have a 50 percent ownership stake in TikTok. So it’s entirely possible that MrBeast and the US government will end up splitting TikTok, although there are plenty of other people interested in buying the platform. Time will tell who will ultimately be in charge of the hit video service, as many of these potential buyers have yet to comment publicly on the situation.
