Split Fiction players on Switch 2 can invite original Switch users to join the excitement

Upcoming game Split Fiction will be available on the Switch 2, and users of the original Switch will also have access through the GameShare feature.

As previously noted, Split Fiction on the Switch 2 will incorporate a Friend’s Pass, allowing users to invite a friend to join their gaming session at no cost. It will also support cross-play, meaning players on Switch 2 can team up with others on PC, Xbox, and PlayStation platforms.

Importantly, those with the original Switch will still be able to participate, even though the game won’t be released on that platform.

This information was shared in a blog update detailing the features of the Switch 2 and stated, “GameShare allows Nintendo Switch 2 users to invite another player to join in a game using a local wireless connection, requiring just one copy of the game.” The post further explained that the second player could be either a Switch 2 or an original Switch owner.

This is quite impressive! While it may not be surprising to some, I initially thought Split Fiction would only be effective on the platforms for which it is officially released.
