Indiana Jones and the Great Circle DLC will modify difficulty settings based on your advancement in the main game
The DLC for Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, titled The Order of Giants, is set to launch next week. This expansion will continue the adventure from the game’s early location in Rome, a spot familiar to players who have embarked on the quest.
For those wondering whether having advanced further in the main game will make the DLC easier, the answer is no. The developers have implemented a smart system that adjusts the difficulty level based on the player’s progress within the base game.
“Players finishing the main storyline shouldn’t be concerned about the challenge being too low,” stated creative director Axel Torvenius and lead game designer Zeke Virant in a recent discussion. “We’ve established a new mechanism where the game’s difficulty scales dynamically to match how far players have advanced, which is especially relevant for those with significant health upgrades and skill sets.”
If players have progressed to locations like the Vatican and Rome but have not gone further, they’ll face the DLC at the initial difficulty tier. Meanwhile, players who have reached Giza will encounter a more challenging second tier, and those who make it to Sukhothai will face the third tier of difficulty.
The developers elaborated, “From there, we can fine-tune aspects such as the variety of combat combos enemies can use, their health levels, and how many will attack simultaneously.”
The Order of Giants promises to deliver “breathtaking new environments, complex puzzles, fierce enemies, and more,” with players tasked to “outsmart a menacing cult” while unraveling “the ominous legacy of the Nephilim giants.”
This exciting DLC will be available on September 4th for Xbox Series X/S, PS5, and PC.
