Bloober Team is looking to develop additional horror games for Switch 2 – might Silent Hill 2 be among them?
Bloober Team is gearing up to unveil more horror titles for Nintendo’s upcoming Switch 2, coinciding with the release of their new game, Cronos: The New Dawn, scheduled for next month.
CEO Piotr Babieno expressed his enthusiasm for this direction, stating, “I’m working to fulfill my personal dreams. Being a lifelong fan of Nintendo, I have fond memories of playing on their consoles. Iconic horror games, including Eternal Darkness, Resident Evil 0, and Resident Evil 4, were available on the GameCube, marking a golden era for Nintendo enthusiasts. We aim to help usher in a new chapter for Nintendo today.”
He added, “We have some plans in place. While we can’t share our precise future vision at this moment, it’s clear that Nintendo fans should keep an eye on Bloober Team.”
Babieno also suggested that Bloober is interested in the cozy gaming genre, pointing to the Luigi’s Mansion series as a successful example of blending cozy elements with horror.
“The best illustration is Luigi’s Mansion,” Babieno remarked. “What director Kono-san achieved with that title is remarkable. I believe we can potentially replicate that kind of concept in the future.”
There’s speculation about whether the Silent Hill 2 remake could make its way to the Switch 2. Currently, it is a console exclusive for Sony’s PlayStation 5, but that exclusivity will expire after one year from the game’s launch on October 8.

If Cronos: The New Dawn releases on Switch 2, it raises the possibility of Silent Hill 2 appearing on the platform in the future. Additionally, we might see ports of Bloober’s earlier titles or other upcoming projects from the studio.
Cronos: The New Dawn will be available on September 5 across multiple platforms, including Switch 2, PS5, Xbox Series X/S, Windows, and macOS.
