Ken Levine highlights the existence of Judas with an update on a polished gameplay feature
Ken Levine, the visionary behind the Bioshock series, has emerged to share updates about his upcoming project, Judas, a first-person action-adventure game from Ghost Story Games, through a newly launched developer blog.
In this post, a standout feature called Villainy was introduced. This system, driven by player choices, will shape who takes on the role of the antagonist throughout the game. Initially, players will have a positive relationship with “the big three” characters. However, neglecting one of them for too long could lead to dire consequences, as that character may turn against the player.
Levine expressed admiration for the Nemesis system from Shadow of Mordor, highlighting how it enabled players to form connections with various orc characters. This influence is particularly evident in the Villainy system in Judas, where the betrayal of a once-friendly character feels akin to “losing a friend.”
Although a release date for Judas has yet to be announced, the game was first revealed in 2022 and has seen little news since then. However, the promise of more developer blogs suggests that we may be drawing closer to the game’s launch, allowing us to finally check this intriguing title off our list of “whatever happened to…” projects.
