Halo Studios to share details about upcoming projects at next month's World Championship event

Halo Studios is set to showcase an in-depth presentation of its upcoming projects during the Halo World Championship next month.

The championship will take place from October 24th to 26th in Seattle, featuring a Community Stage that includes several panels. Among the highlights, voice actors Steve Downes (who voices Master Chief) and Jen Taylor (the voice of Cortana) will be participating.

Details regarding the studio’s forthcoming projects will be revealed on the Main Stage, along with an additional “deep dive” panel on the Community Stage.

In the previous year, the development team 343 Industries rebranded itself as Halo Studios and announced that it is working on several new titles within the franchise. They presented a video named A New Dawn, which introduced Project Foundry—an exploration of how future Halo games might utilize Unreal Engine 5.

According to Halo Studios head Pierre Hintze, much of what was presented in Foundry is anticipated to be incorporated into current or future projects. Previously, the studio primarily utilized its own Slipspace engine, and experts have noted that transitioning to Unreal Engine 5 could lead to significant improvements in both presentation and development processes.

The latest blog update regarding the Halo World Championship does not offer specific information about these new initiatives, but it emphasizes that fans of the franchise should be eager for the upcoming announcements. The blog states, “In June, we informed the community about our plans to continue the dialogue from last year’s HaloWC and the A New Dawn video, providing updates on our work. As last year, we’ll present on the Main Stage, but this year we also have a special ‘deep dive’ panel on the Community Stage that is a must-see.”

The most recent release in the Halo series was Halo Infinite in 2021, which introduced a semi-open world to Xbox’s premier shooter. Although it received a generally positive reception, its multiplayer component has witnessed a significant decline in player numbers since then.
