Eurogamer’s 2023 Game of the Year exits Game Pass and arrives on PlayStation Plus
Cocoon, recognized as the Game of the Year for 2023, will soon be leaving Game Pass. However, players on PlayStation can look forward to its arrival on PlayStation Plus later this month.
This game is departing Microsoft’s subscription service alongside titles such as Donut County, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutants Unleashed, and Core Keeper.
As for its upcoming launch on PlayStation Plus, Cocoon will be available alongside Goat Simulator 3 and Alan Wake 2 across all service tiers. Both PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 users will be able to download it.
PlayStation users should take note, as several popular games like Psychonauts 2, Stardew Valley, and Viewfinder will also soon be removed from the monthly lineup. These titles will no longer be available after October 6.
In the meantime, just yesterday, Game Pass announced an increase in its ultimate tier subscription to $30 per month, despite experiencing record subscriber revenue last year. This change also brings an updated rewards program, which will no longer allow users to directly redeem Rewards points for Game Pass subscriptions, following a price hike for Xbox hardware last month.
Reflecting on Cocoon’s merits, staff members highlighted its ingenuity, elegance, and thought-provoking design. They praised its precise gameplay, expressiveness, and generous approach to puzzles, emphasizing the game’s playful nature.
