Borderlands 4 crit knife build set for nerf with upcoming Horrors of Kairos event
The notorious build in Borderlands 4 is set to receive a nerf in an upcoming update that coincides with the in-game event, Horrors of Kairos.
This event will commence early next week alongside a significant patch that will address Vex’s crit knife build, known for its overwhelming performance against bosses since the game’s release in September. This build has sparked considerable debate among players focused on game balance.
Originally referred to as the “Day 30 Update,” this balance patch faced a delay last Thursday. It will not only implement the nerf to the crit knife build but will also introduce various quality-of-life improvements, as well as enhancements to performance and stability. Gearbox has been actively updating the game to refine gameplay since its launch.
The Horrors of Kairos mini-event is complimentary and will feature new legendary weapons, a seasonal weather variation, and a decorative pumpkin head for all vault hunters. This event is set to start tomorrow and will run until November 6th.
Following the Horrors of Kairos, players can anticipate the arrival of Bounty Pack 1 in November, which will include a new mission and boss, along with a selection of cosmetic rewards. Before the year concludes, an additional endgame boss named Bloomreaper and more legendary weapons for players to acquire will also be introduced.
Looking ahead to 2026, players can look forward to the long-awaited introduction of the fifth vault hunter, C4SH, which is set to debut in the first quarter. This update will feature new missions, an expanded area on the map, side quests, and more exciting content. With regular balance updates alongside a blend of free and paid expansions on the horizon, Borderlands 4 appears to have plenty of engaging content still to offer.
