Reigate Grammar School opens state-of-the-art eSports centre
Reigate Grammar School, a private school in Surrey, England, has taken an innovative step by opening a state-of-the-art esports centre on its campus. This makes it one of the few schools in the UK with a full-fledged esports space for students.
The centre is located in a renovated IT room. It is equipped with 24 modern gaming PCs and the latest technology. The premises will used not only for esports competitions but also for classes in computer science, programming, design and other disciplines.
Generous contribution from Corsair
This project was made possible by the generous support of Andy Paul, CEO of Corsair, a well-known gaming equipment manufacturer. Andy Paul is a former student of Reigate Grammar School, and his initiative was aimed at supporting the school’s modern educational infrastructure.
Corsair donated high-end equipment, including PCs, curved monitors, gaming keyboards, mice and comfortable chairs. In addition, Paul and the Corsair team held a hands-on workshop for the students to assemble their own PCs, making the process fun and educational. Each computer case is signed by the students who assemble it, adding a personal touch to the project.

An investment in the future
The new esports centre is an important investment for the school. The facility aims to prepare students for possible careers in esports and the gaming industry. Sean Fenton, headmaster of Reigate Grammar School, said that the space will help students gain the skills to master the professions of the future.
We’re preparing children for a world that we didn’t train for ourselves. This project is part of what their future will look like, – Fenton said.
Learning through esports
The centre will used not only for esports but also for computer science, design, art and photography classes. In addition, esports will help develop students’ communication and strategic skills, according to research conducted by the non-profit organisation NASEF. They demonstrate that integrating esports into the educational process can improve student engagement and academic success.
Andy Paul also emphasised that an esports centre not only promotes the development of technical skills but also makes the learning process more interesting and attractive for students. This helps children not only gain new knowledge but also enjoy their time at school.

RGS CYBORGS – the official esports team
In addition to training, the centre will also serve as a training ground for RGS CYBORGS. The school’s official esports team will now be able to train and compete on the new equipment.
The new esports centre at Reigate Gymnasium is an innovative educational space. It not only promotes the development of technical skills but also provides a modern approach to teaching and student engagement.
