What we know about the prequel

Welcome to Derry is an upcoming prequel to the popular film It, based on the novel of the same name by Stephen King. The series is being developed as a prequel to the events of the 2017 film It and the film It: Part Two in 2019. The series will set in Derry, Maine, and will explore the history of this sinister town, including the origin of the clown Pennywise.

The project will directed by Andy Muschietti, who was responsible for the two It films. Although it initially reported that Bill Skarsgård would not return to his creepy role, it looks like he will still have to play the clown.

The series will released next year, but the release date is currently unknown. There will be nine episodes in total.
