Destin Daniel Cretton‘s upcoming action film Naruto reportedly has a finished script. The film will tell the nuanced story of the yellow-haired ninja from the Village of Hidden Leaves.

Hopes for the upcoming Naruto film

According to an interview with writer Tasha Huo, the script for the Naruto film adaptation has completed and handed over to director Cretton. Huo is optimistic about the film’s direction, trusting the director’s style. She believes that Cretton, known for films such as Shang-Chi and The Legend of the Ten Rings, will bring a fresh take on the Naruto story, avoiding the sprawling world of the franchise.

Huo praises the director for being a fan of the series. In her opinion, this will allow him to capture the nuances and special qualities of Naruto’s character and relationships.

The Naruto franchise, which began as a manga series in 1997, has gained immense popularity over the years. It has expanded to include an anime adaptation, Naruto: Shippuden and Baruto sequels, and video games (Ultimate Ninja Storm). A full-length film is currently being prepared for filming, to be directed by Destin Daniel Cretton. This announcement has generated high expectations due to Naruto’s status as one of the Big Three in the anime world.

The series creator Masashi Kishimoto expressed confidence in Creighton’s ability to bring Naruto to the big screen. Kishimoto believes that the director’s talent for creating serious human dramas makes him an ideal candidate for the project.

The film’s release date not yet known.
