On 27 August, the long-awaited Star Wars Outlaws game will released. In anticipation of this event, Ubisoft decided to share a roadmap for those who will purchase a season pass.

What updates does Star Wars Outlaws offer

The Ubisoft development team noted that the seasonal pass will divided into three release periods and will offer different content. On the day of launch, season pass holders will get access to a set of characters and an exclusive mission called Jabba’s Gambit. Previously, this mission caused controversy when Ubisoft announced that it would be available only to season pass holders. However, the developers have clarified that Jabba’s Gambit will be available to all players.

Besides, two storyline DLCs planned to released: Wild Card in autumn 2024 and A Pirate’s Fortune in spring 2025. In Wild Card, players will take on the role of Kay Vess, an outlaw protagonist tasked with infiltrating the Sabacca tournament. This DLC will also feature a meeting between Kay and Lando Calrissian. The second storyline expansion, A Pirate’s Fortune, will focus on Kay’s confrontation with Hondo Onaka, an experienced pirate who is seeking to settle scores with old allies.

The plot of the main game

Star Wars Outlaws takes place between the events of The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi. Players will play as the character of Kay Wess, a young thief who is trying to commit a huge heist to pay off a debt to a criminal syndicate. This is the first open-world game in the Star Wars universe.

The plot focuses on the adventures of Kye as she explores different planets, encounters criminal gangs, and strives to gain freedom and a new life. Players will meet both new and familiar characters, such as Jabba the Gutt, and complete missions on his behalf on Tatooine. Kay’s companion, Nix, belongs to a new alien race, the Merkaal, and will help her in her adventures.

The game offers a rich open world with a variety of locations. Players can explore the moon of Toshara with its wide savannahs, the famous casino city of Cantonica, and more. The developers sought to create a deep and rich gameplay, while avoiding excessive scale. This approach will allow players to enjoy the game at their own pace.

Kay Wess is voiced by Humberly Gonzalez, and her companion Nix is voiced by Dee Bradley Baker. Star Wars Outlaws will released on 27 August for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S.
