Capcom confirms Dragon's Dogma 2 update
Dragon’s Dogma 2 will be updated for all platforms. Including the new PS5 Pro console, which will be available in November.
Recently, Sony announced PS5 Pro for PS5 Pro. Along with the announcement, the company presented a list of 50 third-party games that will receive the PS5 Pro Enhanced update on 7 November this year, when the console goes on sale. Dragon’s Dogma 2 was included in the list of these games.
However, there are still few details about the update. Capcom noted that the update will improve CPU utilisation, reduce the number of crashes, and introduce additional settings. The developers also noted that more details will be announced in the future.
Why Dragon’s Dogma 2 is considered a hit
The second part of this game appeared only ten years after the release of its predecessor. Despite complaints about performance, Capcom managed to sell 2.5 million units in 11 days.
The first Dragon’s Dogma (2012) gained cult status due to its unique combat system, open world and the system of ‘paions’ – companions that the player can take on a journey. This unconventional approach to RPG elements made a strong impression on players.
Dragon’s Dogma 2 continues the basic concept of the original, combining an action combat system with deep RPG elements and an open world. The game uses the RE Engine (Resident Evil Engine), which has been used in games such as Resident Evil and Devil May Cry 5. This provides improved graphics, animation and more world detail.
The world in Dragon’s Dogma 2 is even bigger and more diverse than its predecessor. Players will be able to explore new locations and interact with large and powerful creatures. Just like in the original game, players can hire and use artificial partners (Pawns) to help them in battle.
