What to expect from Final Fantasy XIV patch 7.1
Following the release of Dawntrail, which players described as good in terms of gameplay but with a mixed story, Final Fantasy 14 fans are eagerly awaiting new content. Patch 7.1, titled Crossroads, will bring a host of new features to the game, including story quests, raids, and endgame.
Main story (MSQ)
Patch 7.1 will continue the main storyline with the addition of a new dungeon called Yuweyawata Field Station, which is located around the Heritage Found and Solution Nine areas. The main events are focused on the unresolved issues that remained after Dawntrail, in particular regarding the character Zoraal Ja. Players can expect an interesting plot development and possible surprises.
Raids and high-level content
This patch will bring two new high-level raids. The first is a 24-player alliance raid called Cloud of Darkness. It features a new reward system and increased difficulty.
The second major raid is Shadowbringers Ultimate, called Futures Rewritten (a 24-player alliance). It will become available approximately two weeks after the release of the main patch content.

Endgame activities
For fans of endgame content, Square Enix offers the long-awaited alliance raid based on Final Fantasy 11, starting with Jeuno: The First Walk. In addition, players will be able to fight the last boss of Dawntrail in Extreme mode. And take part in the new Unreal: The Jade Stoa by Stormblood, starring B’yakko.
Tribes, quests, and deliveries
Update 7.1 will also bring back and expand the endgame quest system. Pelupelu, a new alliance tribe, will receive quests for the Disciple of War and Magic classes. For crafters and gatherers, a new special delivery will be added to the Engineering Department led by Nitovikwe.
Guildbrand and role-playing quests
Fans of the Hildibrand quest series will get new episodes of his incredible adventures. New role-playing quests will also be added for those who have already completed the previous series.
Training and improvements for new players
To make it easier for newcomers to get started, new lessons will be available in the Newcomer’s Hall. These lessons will cover basic combat mechanics such as stacks, AoE drops, and other important aspects of the game. We are also working on introducing NPC bots to additional dungeons, starting with Halatali.

Changes to housing
One of the most anticipated features is the expansion of housing options. While not all of the changes will be available in Patch 7.1, players can expect to see an increase in the internal size of houses and the ability to change the style. This will be available in future updates, possibly as soon as a year from now.
Other changes
In addition to the major new features, Patch 7.1 will also bring changes to PvP, new voice lines for NPCs in Doman Mahjong, and New Game+ support for Dawntrail content. More news is also expected in the next Live Letter from the Producer, where the team will show gameplay footage and share a more precise release date.
The official release of Patch 7.1 Crossroads is expected in mid-November, although the team has not yet announced the exact date. However, based on previous updates, the patch is likely to be released on 12 November, barring any delays.
