Nintendo has expanded its Nintendo Music catalog with additional tracks from the legendary game Super Mario World. Over the years, the renowned game studio has built one of the most recognizable and celebrated game and music libraries in the industry. Its games and soundtracks are deeply ingrained in pop culture. This is especially true for the Mario franchise, including Super Mario World, which is one of the most iconic in Nintendo’s legendary line-up, reported by GameRant.
In the latter half of last year, Nintendo launched its music streaming app, exclusively for Switch Online members, with 23 soundtracks ready to use at the time of its release. The app, available for iOS and Android, offers a number of unique features, including: themed playlists, such as Powering Up for workouts, and settings so that fans can’t hear tracks from unfinished games. For the company’s collection of memorable tunes, it also allows users to loop songs or continue tracks for up to 60 minutes.
Super Mario World OST Added to Nintendo Music App
The Super Mario World OST is now available on the Nintendo Music streaming app. The soundtrack to the iconic game, which was released in 1990, is the latest addition to the service. This update follows the recent addition of another fan favorite, the soundtrack from Pokemon Legends: Arceus.
The Super Mario World OST joins a growing collection of tracks on the Nintendo Music app, which already includes classics like Zelda, Donkey Kong Country 2, and Kirby’s Dream Land. By launching its own app, Nintendo has taken a different approach than other game companies, which release their music on existing streaming platforms. This decision was likely driven by the wealth of Nintendo’s IP, which offers a vast catalog of unique, nostalgic music that continues to resonate with many fans.

Switch 2 – Nintendo’s Future
Despite Nintendo’s glorious past, the company continues to focus on the future, as the long-awaited Switch 2 is set to launch in 2025. The console is expected to launch ahead of the planned release dates for other gaming giants, PlayStation and Xbox. Rumors suggest the latest Xbox version will be released in 2026, while the PlayStation 6 will be released in 2027.
Super Mario World, the fourth installment in the legendary series and a direct sequel to the popular Super Mario Bros. 3, was well-received upon release and, like many other Nintendo games, features an unforgettable soundtrack. Its addition to the Nintendo Music app will allow fans to listen to the game’s tunes on their phones anytime, anywhere.
