Vitaliy Volochai (V1lat), esports commentator and co-owner of Maincast studio, spoke in an interview with the “Direct Red” project about his business relationship with Maksym Krippa.

The details were shared by dev.ua.

Maksym Krippa is currently a co-owner and shareholder of Maincast. He started investing in the project two months after it was founded. At that time, Maincast cut all ties with the Russian platform RuHub. The studio already had an office, employees, and the necessary equipment, but it needed cash injections to continue its existence.

How Maksym Krippa started investing in Maincast

In the interview, Vitaliy recalled how he was looking for an investor. Maksym Krippa is a non-public person and at the time, it was his first investment in esports. He had to explain for a long time why it was popular, how it was profitable and what potential it would have in the future. Maksym Krippa agreed to invest. It seems that he liked it, because he bought the NAVI brand 2 years later.

What is known about Maincast

Maincast, an esports platform that emerged in 2018, has faced challenges over the years but has shown resilience and achieved success in the esports arena. The company initially launched its studio with well-known figures in the esports industry but later experienced financial difficulties after losing sponsorship contracts with Russian companies in 2022.

Despite this, Maincast managed to survive with the help of previous financial support. The renewed popularity of esports broadcasts in Ukraine played a crucial role in Maincast’s revival. Ukrainian-language broadcasts saw a significant increase in views, reaching 5.1 million hours of viewing in the first year of the big war, which benefited the company by generating interest in its broadcasts and advertising opportunities.

Maincast has also signed four new contracts with Ukrainian clients, demonstrating growing confidence in the esports industry and the company itself. The Ukrainian segment of Twitch has also been a catalyst for growth, with Maincast’s channel becoming one of the top three most-watched CS:GO channels.
